think 'holy fuck! start speaking out and never stop so that doesn't happen to us as well'

why? so 'there was no one left to speak for me' doesn't happen to you

why? because war criminals are fucked up in the head and do not just go away if you ignore them or look like a good little victim that keeps its mouth shut and they sure as fuck don't suddenly recover or reform themselves and the death penalty is the best way to ensure they don't reoffend in the future even if it isn't a deterrent for the rest of them
